Breakfast

Breakfast time is very special to us.  As the immortal  P G Wodehouse put it, breakfast should be: "so leisurely, so ordered, so spacious, so redolent of all that is most delightful".  Well, that's how we feel too.  Our Victorian dining room, with its Georgian breakfast table, lends itself perfectly to the true appreciation of a great breakfast

Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:30 am. We may be able to do other times by prior arrangement.  Just call or email to discuss. We encourage you to order the night before, in which case it will be ready for you when you come down, but you can just come down and order on the morning.  As all breakfasts are cooked fresh to order, this can take up to 20 minutes - you can't hurry a good sausage!  And, there are some things you HAVE to order the night before - to placate the Great God Freezer!

Breakfast at Dowfold House Bed and Breakfast

With a wide variety of breakfast dishes to choose from there will be something to suit everyone. Orange juice, our own apple juice, a choice of cereals, a selection of seasonal fruit and a variety of yoghurts are on the side-table, so just help yourself. Then, try our traditional English Breakfast with excellent sausages, bacon, and eggs sourced from local farmers, as well as fresh mushrooms, and tomatoes (our own, when in season) . Baked beans, delicious Irish potato bread and/or black pudding are also available. Or, for a change, try some scrambled eggs with a little smoked salmon, kippers, or poached eggs on toast, a bacon or sausage sandwich, or a bowl of piping hot porridge.

Vegetarian guests may enjoy our Vegetarian English Breakfast with mushrooms, tomatoes, vegetarian sausage, egg, baked beans and home-baked Irish potato bread. Alternatively, a light, Continental option is available, with fresh-baked croissants. All our jams are home made - often from our own fruit trees. We even grow our own apple juice.

We boast excellent cafetière coffee, both full-strength and decaffeinated. We also have a splendid espresso machine, capable of producing espresso, latte, cappuccino, as you wish. For tea lovers, there's a choice between Earl Grey, and Rington's Breakfast tea - or any number of tisanes, from green tea, Peppermint, Camomile and others. And, you MUST try our home-made bread, converted by alchemy into superb toast, and spread with our home-made preserves.
